A Fresh Perspective for Our Schools

WHY I’M RUNNING

A Voice for Current Student Families

I am right here in the thick of it with you. With daughters at both Bayside Middle School and Stelly’s Secondary, I live the daily reality of balancing school life, work life, amongst rising costs and packed schedules.

The SD63 Board of Education needs this perspective at the table when making big decisions. Having volunteered in our schools for years as a parent-teacher representative, I know how much effort goes into creating a successful environment for our kids.

As your trustee, I will offer a practical, connected voice, ensuring every vote considers how families are actually going to be impacted in real life.

Respecting Community Input & Universal Access

True equity in education means every child can physically get to school without financial barriers. Public education must be universally accessible, yet a recent decision to phase in a steep $400 bus fee, despite overwhelming opposition from parents, creates an unfair paywall to accessing basic education.

When a district collects public feedback, it should lead to meaningful action, not an empty process. Pushing through costs that strain local families directly undermines equity and disregards the very community the board serves.

As your trustee, I will fight to keep public education accessible to all and ensure parent voices genuinely shape board decisions before votes are cast. The district and board should never just go through the motions of a performative survey.

Community-Minded Leadership

With close to 20 years’ experience in public service, on top of volunteering in our community, I want to bring my dedication and passion to the Board of Education where I can have a real impact and voice in School District 63.

As a long-time resident of Central Saanich and Deputy Director for Emergency Support Services with the Peninsula Emergency Measures Organization, I am deeply committed to serving our district and building a strong, connected community.

I am currently working towards launching a Junior Emergency Support Services volunteer team, giving local youth hands-on leadership experience and valuable insight into public safety careers.

As trustee, I will work to build stronger ties between our schools and community organizations, ensuring our students have practical, real-world opportunities to grow, lead, and thrive.

ABOUT ME

If you want a trustee who brings a fresh perspective, stands up for universal access to public education, and is passionate about building an inclusive school community where every student can thrive, I would be honoured to have your vote.
